Adult Ed Gardens Hospitality Memorial Outreach Parish Nursing Pastoral Care Prayer Shawl Sunday School

Hospitality

The Hospitality Committee is responsible for organizing parish receptions throughout the year as directed by the church office. These receptions may follow a special musical presentation, guest lecture or parish family event (honoring confirmands, graduating seniors or the passing of a member of the parish). The Committee also coordinates refreshments after the 10:00 AM service. Each week volunteers bring a snack and drink, set up and serve. After many adult education events, light meals are organized such as soup, salad and bread.

Singles and Doubles

Singles and Doubles provides an evening of socializing for adult parishoners. From September through May, usually the second Saturday of the month, host families welcome parishioners into their home. The events are typically co-hosted by two families. Beverages and hors d'oeuvres are provided by both the host families and the participants.
The average attendance is between 40 -50 adults. Singles and Doubles provides a chance for all parishioners to get better acquainted with each other.

Newcomers

When you come to one of the services, there will be greeters at the door to welcome you. They and other parishioners have name tags to identify themselves. You have the option of putting on a name tag if you would like. After the 10:00 AM service, we provide refreshments and an opportunity for people to mingle. We want you to feel welcome without being overwhelmed.

There are cards in the pews so that you can let us know if you would like follow-up such as a phone call from a parishoner or the rector or a visit. We'd like to get to know you but don't want to be "in your face."
We are very family friendly and want you to feel welcome to bring your children. When you come, you may hear many of our toddlers singing along.

Among the many activities that are part of parish life is our Singles and Doubles group. Singles and Doubles is a chance for adult parishioners to enjoy a relaxing social evening together, to get better acquainted. Newcomers are especially welcome and we would be happy to pick up anyone who would need a ride.

St. Paul's also provides times for families to get together such as pot luck dinners, games night, participation in an outreach project or other church event. We look forward to getting to know you and your family.
