The Memorial and Tribute Committee

This committee was created to honor the memory of the loved ones in our parish who have died, and to express gratitude to those among us whom the congregation wishes to recognize with a tangible tribute. We have recently completed two tasks: to make the Memorial Close more pleasing, reverent and useful, and to turn an old classroom into a new conference room.

In the Close, we have created a larger, more usable space for services there and added a lantern as an eternal light. The purchase and mounting of brass plaques and name plates to identify and honor the interred in the Close was orchestrated by Janet Siegel. Virginia Huffman has added plants and flowers to the garden, making it more welcoming and lovely. Many hours were spent by Charlie Foster working with our administrator, to correct and better organize the records of our deceased members.
The Close is available for respite and meditation whenever the church is open. All are welcome.

Last February we joyfully dedicated the newly furnished and decorated Moore Conference Room to Lee and Jim Moore, long time and very active members of our congregation who retired to Delaware. Ann and John Bennett graciously loaned us their patchwork quilt, made by members of the congregation, to adorn the back wall of the room and Betty Stockly contributed a much needed screen. The conference room is now used by the Vestry and other groups in the church for meetings.
