Worship Services Leadership at our Services      Music

A variety of worship services for the needs of today's church

Sunday, 8AM - A simple, quiet service from the Book of Common Prayer, normally Rite II, if that's helpful information for you, but Rite I during Advent and Lent. There are readings from the Bible, a sermon, and the celebration of Holy Eucharist. All in about 45 minutes - in time for breakfast and the NY Times, that trip to your favorite out of state relative or, to schlep the kids to that away game.

Sunday, 10 AM - A festively traditional service from the Book of Common Prayer, Rite II, with great, inspirational music that welcomes families of all kinds. There are readings from Holy Scripture, a sermon which seeks to find practical relevance of this ancient wisdom, and the celebration of Holy Eucharist. Children attend Sunday School Program that begins at 10 AM (ages 3 - 12) and join their parents and the congregation for Holy Communion. A Nursery with friendly, competent staff welcomes our infants and toddlers.

Wednesday 7 AM Holy Communion and Healing Service Need a way to connect with The Holy mid-week? This informal gathering is designed to provide a few lessons from the Holy Bible, a down to earth homily, and Holy Communion, all within 30 minutes. If you have the time before rushing off to work, you are welcome to stay for the ancient ritual of Prayers for Healing, Laying on of Hands and Anointing with Holy Oil. The community then gathers at a local diner for breakfast. Come as you are - leave prepared to face the day!

In addition to our regular bread and wafers, we now offer wheat-free communion wafers (these wafers are actually gluten-free, wheat-free, dairy-free, corn-free and soy-free!) at our services of Holy Eucharist.

Sunday School

Children from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade receive Bible-based, discovery learning in lower level classrooms. Sunday School starts at 10:00 AM. The children join their parents in the worship service for the Eucharist.

Children are grouped as follows: Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 5 and Grades 6-8.

Teaching is provided by adult volunteers with some student assistants. Teaching assignments are divided into half-year "semesters."

Nursery

Our nursery is for children up to age 4 and is normally staffed by two of our young adult volunteers. They provide a loving atmosphere for your children while you worship.

Please Note: Families are welcome to have their children attend the service with them if they so desire, but we encourage them to participate in church child with their peers. There is a small area separated by glass from the worship area (the Narthex) where restless children can play while adults can view the service and listen to the piped-in audio. There is a padded bench with toys for young children stored below. Children are welcome to take a book or soft toy with them into the worship area. There are also Bilble-related pamphlets with puzzles and pictures to color.
