Music
 |
Music is the heartbeat of the worship service. There are opportunities
for all who love music to be part of our wonderful music ministry.
Parish Choir: the choir for adults and high school teenagers. The
choir sings anthems in a variety of musical styles for the 10:00
a.m worship service and leads the congregation in hymn singing,
sung liturgy and psalms. Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings from
7:45-9:15 with Sunday morning warm-ups at 9:15. They sing for festival
Sundays and special musical events like the Diocesan choral festival,
a concert with Seton Hall under the direction of our Deacon Candidate,
Jeanette Hile and other performances with instrumental ensembles
such as Christmas Eve, Easter, the Evensong Service featuring the
Schubert Mass in G and our new Jazz service for Pentecost.

Youth Choir
Our choir for children and youth, grades 2 - 8. The choir rehearses
on Thursdays from 6:30 - 7:30. The young people will sing introits,
anthems and occasional combined anthems with the Parish Choir. They
will sing several times a month and for special festivals such as
the Choral Evensong with the children's choirs of Grace Episcopal,
Madison. They sing for youth services, Christmas Pageant, Christmas
Eve, Easter and perhaps a youth musical or other special musical
event.

Festival Choir
The combined Parish and Youth Choirs that sings for Youth Sundays and
other special festival services.

Instrumental Music
There are many opportunities for those who play musical instruments to
participate in worship services. There are preludes, postludes, anthems
and special music.

Handbells
We have a 3 octave set of handbells as well as choir chimes at St. Paul's.
We will use them to enhance the worship service and if there is interest,
begin the development of a handbell choir.

Special Music
Throughout the year, we have special music programs. Past events have
included The Schubert Mass in G; a Christmas concert featuring the Vivaldi
Gloria and Pinkham Christmas Cantata with Seton Hall choir, under the
direction of Jeanett Hile; Jazz instrumentalists for our Palm Sunday procession
and for our Jazz Service at Pentecost.
